About Our Community
Toms River is part of Ocean County, which is the second largest county in New Jersey. Toms River consists of approximately 95,000 residents. Town Hall and the Ocean County Superior Court House, Toms River Library which is the main branch of the county library system, are all located in Downtown Toms River. Downtown Toms River holds many events throughtout the year including the 2nd largest Halloween parade in the country.
Toms River Township consists of a variety of farming, fishing and boating.
Toms River is not only a nice place to live but its also a great place to visit, with miles of beautiful beaches.
Along with waterfront activities, our community offers a number of playgrounds and parks, sports fields, recreational facilities and Bey Lea Golf Course, an 18-h*** golf course. There is also an indoor and outdoor ice skating rink. Toms River is also home of Pinebelt Arena which holds concerts and local events to help raise money for the school disrict.
And, of course our Community is protected by the Toms River Police Department and six fire companies which make up the largest Fire Department in Ocean County and is staffed by 350 volunteers providing fire protection to the residents of Toms River 24 hours a day.
Senior Citizens make up a large percentage of our residents in Toms River Township. The Toms River Senior Center is the perfect place for seniors to go and enjoy themselves.
