The Month of October in Toms River, New Jersey brings cooler temperatures, pumpkins, hayrides and the taste of apple cider.   There is so much to do in Toms River and the surrounding area in the Fall.  

Saturday, October 4 visit Silverton Volunteer Fire Company for their 7th Annual Fall Festival from 11 am to 6 pm.  Food, refreshments, live music and more!  Fun for the entire family. Located on Church Road in Toms River. 

Every Wednesday until the end of October is the weekly Farmers Market held in Downtown Toms River located at the corner of Irons & W. Water Street.  Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Baked Goods, Plants and Herbs, Honey, Nuts and Candy, Olive Oils and Salts, Apples, Pumpkins and more. 


The Italian Street Festival takes place October 10, 11, 12 in nearby Seaside Heights, New Jersey.  Friday, October 10th from 3 pm to 10 pm, Saturday, October 11th from 10 am to 10 pm, Sunday, October 12 from 10 am to 8 pm. This is a weekend of fun for the entire family! Italian specialties, arts & crafts, music, entertainment and the Columbus Day Parade on Sunday at 1 pm. 

This month also offers a fun family festival for the Fall.  The Harvest Arts Festival on Saturday, October 18th located on Washington Street in beautiful Downtown Toms River. Contests, Fun Activities, Football on Large Screens, Beer Garden, Fall Fun for Everyone! Rock out with the XL Jazz Band & Vintage!, Beer Garden, Street Performers, Stilt Walkers & Balloonists, Inflatables & Rides!, Pumpkin decorating!, Haystack maze!, Sand Art and Fun Contests!!  Begins at 11 am to 5 pm.  

On Sunday, October 19th is the the Ocean Running Club’s 37th Annual Seaside Half Marathon and 5K will benefit the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad of Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, and Berkeley Twp. and The ORC Scholarship Fund. The flat, fast, out-and-back course starts at the Beachcomber Bar & Grill on the Boardwalk and continues into Island Beach State Park. Race begins at 9 AM.

Also in Seaside Heights is Trick or Treat Street & Howl-O-Ween on Sunday, October 26th from 12 pm to 5 pm on the Boardwalk.  Pumpkin Painting, Kids Costume Contests, Dog Parade, Sand Sculpture Demos, Vendors, Crafters and Grand Finale...Pumpkin Chunkin and Fireworks on the Beach.  FREE Admission - Prizes - Fun for Everyone! Come Join the Fun! 

The date of the 76th Annual Toms River Halloween Parade is on the Saturday before Halloween!  Saturday, October 25th from 7 pm to 10 pm.  It is the 2nd largest in the world! For more information visit
