A Brick Township teen who was injured in a crash in Manchester Township has died of her injuries, her family announced.

Catalina Reinoso was declared brain dead on Saturday afternoon, her sister, Valentina Reinoso, wrote on a GoFundMe campaign created to help the family with Catalina's medical expenses.

"It brings me great sadness to say this but as of 4/20/24 at 2:19 p.m. Catalina was pronounced brain dead," her sister wrote. "From there as a family we decided it would be best to donate her organs.

Last night at around 10 p.m. as a family we walked her off into the operating room where her organs were donated to save 9 lives."

Early on April 14, a collision occurred on Manchester's Lacey Road. Manchester Township police sent queries to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office which has not disclosed anything as of Tuesday afternoon.

Catalina was one among the passengers in the car, according to David Uriarte, a close friend of the Reinoso family who started the GoFundMe campaign.

The other passengers in the automobile, he claimed, had less severe injuries.

Images of the automobile flipping in front of the Manchester Township EMS building on Lacey Road and the severely damaged EMS sign were shared on social media the day of the collision.

"Catalina was deceased for 17 minutes then resuscitated back to life at the scene of the accident," Uriarte stated. She was treated at a trauma center after being transported there, and up until Saturday, she was kept on life support.

"As of now we can’t comment on anything else about the situation but Catalina is gone," Valentina Reinoso wrote Monday. "Thank you so much to everybody who has donated this far. We appreciate all the love, prayers, and support."

The GoFundMe campaign can be found here for those who wish to donate.
