19-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Seaside Park

After being struck by an SUV in Seaside Park on Sunday, a 19-year-old man from Toms River was taken to the hospital, according to Seaside Park Police.

Around 1:30 a.m., the man, whose name was withheld, was crossing the street at the intersection of M Street and Central Avenue when he was struck by a 2015 Chevy Tahoe being driven by a 41-year-old Westfield resident. According to Sgt. Andrew Casole. The 19-year-old's condition was unknown, but he was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
According to Casole, the driver was not intoxicated and stopped right after, dialing 911. According to Casole, no summonses were issued.
