Ocean County Veterans Day Parade: Honoring Those Who Served

Monday, November 11, 2024

The 2024 Ocean County Veterans Day Parade will be held on Veterans Day, November 11th in downtown Toms River.

The parade begins at 9:45 a.m. at the Toms River Shopping Center on Route 37, proceeding south on Main Street (Route 166) and then east onto Washington Street.

The parade will feature numerous military vehicles, elected officials, civic groups, first responders, local high school marching bands and a showcase of vintage cars.

The Toms River Veterans Commission would like to encourage increased participation in this event that honors veterans who have served in our armed forces. All Ocean County veterans’ organizations, guests, as well as school bands and ROTC units are invited.

After the parade, there will be a ceremony held outside Toms River’s Town Hall at 33 Washington Street. The post-parade ceremony will feature speakers and honored guests, a rifle salute, and the placing of the wreath on the Veteran’s monument.

There's a ceremony on town hall steps after that. The Toms River Veterans Commission plans to celebrate the high school and intermediate students who won its annual Veterans Day essay contest, along with speakers.
