54-Year-Old Driver Dies Following Medical Episode on Garden State Parkway
Authorities said a 54-year-old man passed away January 30th after experiencing a medical episode while driving on the Garden State Parkway in Lakewood.
The man whose name is Jarrod Kaufman swerved off the road to the right into a briar patch at 7:10 a.m. while he was heading north close to milepost 88.2, according to State Police.
Kaufman, was declared deceased on the scene.
According to an online obituary, Kaufman was a surgeon connected to a number of Jersey Shore hospitals, including the Southern Campus of Monmouth Medical Center in Lakewood, where he held the position of Chairman of Surgery.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, mother, brother as well as many friends and other relatives.
