8 Year-Old Boy Shot In South Jersey
According to Millville Police Department, an 8-year-old boy is currently receiving treatment in a hospital following a gunshot wound to the leg sustained on Friday in Cumberland County, according to officials.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. in Millville. Millville Police Chief Ross Hoffman reported that officers discovered the victim inside a residence on North 6th Street.
The child was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he is reported to be in stable condition. As of Monday, he continues to be hospitalized.
Authorities have not disclosed any details regarding the circumstances that preceded the shooting; however, they suspect it was unintentional.
The incident is still under investigation, no charges have been brought forth at this time.
