Toms River East vs. Massapequa
In the double-elimination tournament, Toms River East will now play Rhode Island who fell short vs Connecticut 3-1. The game will be held today at 7 pm on ESPN+. The tournament champion advances to Williamsport, Pennsylvania's Little League World Series.
After dominating the district, section, and state tournaments earlier in the season, Toms River East's playoff record fell to 9-2.
To win the New York championship, Massapequa, now 13-2, defeated West Nyack Nanuet 15-5.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
In the top of the first inning, New York scored to start the game, but Christian Mascaro's single on a ground ball to left field in the bottom of the first inning helped Toms River East score.
New York gained a baserunner in the third inning thanks to an error before scoring the game-winning run with two hits. It's 2-1.
During the top of the fourth inning, Ryan Huksloot of New York hits an RBI double.
Bottom of the fourth, to square the score at 3-3, Toms River East scores two runs in a comeback.
Deklin Sloan tripled in
Bryce Tomitz after he singled in an RBI, tying the game.
In the top of the seventh inning, Mikey Castellano hit a two-run home ball to left to put the game out of reach and Christian Bekiers scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch.
