Playa Bowl All Began at the Jersey Shore
The 200th Playa Bowls location has opened, according to the company, which is the nation's top superfruit bowl retailer and specializes in acai, pitaya, mango, green and coconut bowls, juices, smoothies, cold brew, and more. Playa Bowls has signed 71 franchise agreements so far this year, a sign of the company's commitment to expansion since its initial launch in Belmar, New Jersey, in 2014.
Jerry Eicke is the owner and operator of the 200th store, which is situated at 150 Main St., Suite #2 in Hackensack and represents the acai bowl chain's 71st franchise agreement this year.

Abby Taylor and Rob Giuliani, two surfers, founded Playa Bowls in an effort to replicate the delicious, energizing, and healthful acai and pitaya bowls they had enjoyed on their many surf excursions to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, California, and Hawaii.
Each beach offered fresh and distinctive variations on this well-known post-surf treat, leaving the pair wanting more. Playa Bowls was created when the two put up a blender and a folding table on the boardwalk in their hometown of Belmar. After eight years, thousands of workers, and hundreds of thousands of bowls sold, Playa Bowls is still selling superfruit bowls with a goal of inspiring communities to live sustainably and healthily.
