For many companies on this list, the specific senior discounts vary by location, so be sure to check with your local stores to confirm discount availability.

Senior discounts are not available at every restaurant. Here are a few of the better ones we've discovered (note: some of these are subject to individual restaurant participation.) Call ahead to confirm.

Burger King: Burger King does not have a company-wide senior discount; however, some locations offered 10% off regular priced items for customers aged 55 and older. Check with your local Burger King to find out which discounts (if any) they offer.

Chick-fil-A: Free small drink or coffee plus a 10% discount for those 55 and older.

Boston Market: 10% discount for seniors 65 and older.

Chili's Grill and Bar: 10% discount for seniors 55 and older.

McDonalds: Discounts on coffee and drinks.

Wendy's: A free drink (some locations offer a 10% discount)

Kentucky Fried Chicken: Free small drink with the purchase of a meal for those 55 and older.

White Castle: 10% off for 55 and over.

Sonic: 10% discount.

Subway: 10% discount.

Applebees: 10% senior discount.

Taco Bell: A free drink for seniors or 5% off to seniors 65 and older.

Outback Steakhouse: 10% off for AARP members (so get that AARP card!)

Walmart: does not offer ongoing senior discounts, but they frequently offer a lot of promotions on their website.

Amazon: Medicaid cardholders can get an Amazon Prime membership at a rate of $5.99 a month, as opposed to the full price of $12.99 per month.

Ask at every restaurant you visit. Even those not on this and restaurants local to you may offer discounts. Also, if you happen to be an AARP member, you can save even more by showing your membership card. They also offer discounts for buying gift cards to restaurants through a partnership with Restaurant.com. If you are a member of AARP, it might be worth checking out those deals before dining out.

Seniors Get Cellphone Discounts

Almost every cell phone provider offers a senior discount. The most prevalent ones we've discovered are listed below.
AT&T offers a unique "Senior National Plan" for those aged 65 and over. For people who want to use their phone more, they also have a 55+ plan.
Sprint/T-Mobile: Offers a senior package called "Essentials Unlimited 55+," as well as other senior options.
Customers 55 and older can get a special nationwide unlimited call, text, and data package from Verizon Wireless. It costs $60 a month for a single line, which is a great deal for unlimited 4G.
