The Ocean County Parks Department has several collection sites.
When the holiday season is over, are you ready to remove your freshly cut Christmas tree but unsure of what to do with it?
In order to recycle trees, the Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department provides a number of collecting locations at the county parks.
The wood chips made from the trees dumped at the parks are made accessible to locals for use in residential landscaping as well as by the county for its trail maintenance and landscaping initiatives. Natural Lands sites make use of trees as well.
Through January 31, Christmas trees may be left at the following Ocean County parks:
Cattus Island County Park, 1170 Cattus Island Blvd., Toms River
Ocean County Park, 659 Ocean Ave. (Route 88), Lakewood
Jakes Branch County Park, 1100 Double Trouble Road, Beachwood
Robert J. Miller Airpark, 901 Route 530, Berkeley Township
Patriots County Park, 485 Bowman Road, Jackson Township
Here's a list of other collection sites...
