According to South Amboy Police Department, Authorities stated on Thursday that a Middlesex County lady who was found by them bloody and upset has been taken into custody in connection with her ex-boyfriend's stabbing death.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced on Thursday that
Anneris Deleon, 41, of South Amboy, had been charged with first-degree murder and weapons crimes following an alleged stabbing incident involving Anthony Patterson, 32, of Edison.
When South Amboy police arrived on George Street at 1:12 a.m. on Thursday, they discovered Patterson suffering from a single stabbing wound and Deleon in a distressed state with blood on her, according to the police report.
Authorities said that Patterson was declared dead at the scene and that Deleon was taken to
Raritan Bay Medical Center for assessment.
According to the investigators, Deleon and Patterson were once romantically involved.
Following her hospital evaluation, Deleon was taken into custody and is currently being held at the
Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center until her detention hearing.
There was no apparent listing for a lawyer representing Deleon on Thursday afternoon.
