19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in South Jersey

According to authorities, a 19-year-old South Jersey motorcycle rider lost his life after his bike collided with a car that was crossing an intersection.

Around 6:16 p.m., Jeremiah Saint Surin, of Egg Harbor Township, was riding his motorbike east on West Jersey Avenue when it collided with a Ford SUV, according to a news release from the police.

The 38-year-old Egg Harbor Township resident operating the SUV was heading north on Cates Road when, according to authorities, her car approached a stop sign at the junction with West Jersey Avenue. The car crossed the intersection and went straight into the path of the motorcycle rider.

Due to potentially fatal injuries, 19-year-old Saint Surin was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. When he arrived at the hospital, the police reported, he was declared deceased.

The driver of the SUV was slightly hurt.

According to authorities, there was a four-hour traffic diversion.
