Weather Alert

According to the National Weather Service, a flood watch is in effect for a large portion of New Jersey, and rainfall of up to 4 inches is predicted for Friday and Saturday. Forecasters say that the main worry with these storms is flash flooding, especially in urban areas and those with inadequate drainage.

From six in the morning on Friday through Saturday afternoon, flood watches were in effect for the following counties: Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington.

The National Weather Service issued an advisory, stating that roads might become impassable, particularly in Central Jersey's greatest risk area.

Rainfall ranging from moderate to heavy is predicted until Saturday afternoon, raising the possibility of flooding. The National Weather Service stated that by late afternoon, it should subside and the skies should clear.

Forecasters predict that Sunday will get scorching once more, with highs in the low to mid-90s and heat indices returning to their higher levels.

The National Weather Service stated that, except from that, it should be dry. "A stray and isolated shower is not out of the question for Sunday and Sunday night," they said.
