Alert: Fraudulent Letters Circulating in Ocean County

According to Manchester Police Department, residents should be aware of a fake letter being placed on vehicles, particularly at shopping plazas in our township.

The letter claims to summon individuals to appear in court before the Honorable Daniel F. Sahin.

The letter further states that your vehicle and license plate have been recorded for a violation of New Jersey Statutes 39:4-138z (parking in a fire zone) and that you can view the video at the Prosecutor's Office.

This letter is a scam! The Manchester Township Police Department would NEVER place a letter or subpoena on a vehicle. If you receive such a letter, do not follow any instructions provided. Instead, report it to us immediately.

Stay vigilant and spread the word to protect our community from these fraudulent activities. For any concerns or to report this scam, contact the Manchester Township Police Department at 732-657-6111.
