Swimmer Fails to Resurface in South Jersey Lake

According to Monroe Township Police Department,a missing swimmer's body was recovered from the water in Gloucester County, New Jersey, on Thursday.

Around 2:00 pm, authorities were called to the Jackson Road in Monroe Township's Cedar Lake Wildlife Management area by police and rescue personnel.

Around five o'clock in the evening, Rafael Martinez Pascual's body was recovered from the lake following several hours of searching.

Pascual, according to the police, was a Mexican citizen who resided in Pitman, New Jersey. It was stated that he vanished under the water while swimming with buddies.

At the scene, the victim was declared deceased.

According to Wildlife Management Area regulations, swimming is not permitted, and the area has been closed to the public, according to the police.

This is the fourth person to perish in Monroe Township from drowning in the summer of 2024.
