Tucker, the red-eared slider, broke free from the enclosure at Susan McGuire Rowe's Brick Township residence almost a month ago. She has been frantically trying to locate the turtle, who has been her pet for a few years.

Rowe, who lives on Salmon Street, claimed that there had been two potential sightings of Tucker at the nearby Ocean County Golf Course at Forge Pond. Workers at the property reported seeing him on Sunday.

Rowe remarked, "I feel like I'm having a mental breakdown," noting that some people find it hard to comprehend why she has the same feelings about Tucker as they have about their dogs and cats. "I've been told I'm taking it too far," she replied. "But I have to find her."

Since August 22, Rowe has sent out hundreds of flyers, kayaked Forge Pond several times, and logged thousands of steps in her quest to find Tucker, the female turtle that was thought to be a male until she produced eggs in the yard.

"Now I call her Tanya Tucker, but mostly Tucker because she knows her name," Rowe stated.

The sighting occurred on Sunday close to the Forge Pond 12th hole, under some undergrowth close to a curve on the course. Rowe expressed her hope that golfers would keep an eye out for Tucker and get in touch with her by text or phone call if they spot her.

Additionally, she has this plea for anyone who spots Tucker: "Please pick her up. She won’t bite you."

That way, Tucker won't be able to flee before Rowe arrives to pick her up. According to Rowe, one can hold her by placing fingers beneath her lower body and grasping the back of her shell.

Tucker's shell is greenish-hued with a pale yellow stripe, and she has red stripes on her ears. She moves fast, reacts to her name, and sometimes retreats from fearful situations. Rowe remarked that she loves raw meat.

Rowe's phone number is 732-814-3584. "I always have my phone with me," she remarked.
