New Jersey Train Accident Claims Life of Single Mother of Three

Jessica-Haley A New Jersey Transit train operator died Monday morning after a River Line train struck a tree that had fallen onto the tracks in Mansfield Township, Burlington County. Officials said 36 people were on board at the time of the crash, and 16 people reported non-life threatening injuries.

Operator to Pursue Legal Action

The train operator who died after a NJ Transit River Line train hit a downed tree was identified by an attorney for her family as Jessica Haley, a mother of three from Bucks County.

Jessica Haley was killed when the train crashed in Mansfield Township, Burlington County on Monday, attorney Kila Baldwin of the firm Anapol Weiss said in a statement shared with CBS News Philadelphia.

Baldwin, who issued the statement on behalf of Haley's family, said the 41-year-old single mother of three boys from Levittown, Pennsylvania worked for Alstom, the contractor to NJ Transit, for 20 years.

Officials said 36 people were on board at the time of the crash, and 16 people reported non-life threatening injuries.
