Don't Forget to Fall Back
The end of daylight saving time for 2024 is only a few weeks away.
As the shortest day of the year (December 21) draws near, the days are growing shorter, the stunning fall foliage is beginning to emerge, and the temperatures are dropping.
When Do We Turn The Clocks Back?
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on
Nov. 3, 2024. That's the first Sunday in November. This marks the return to standard time.
While getting an extra hour of sleep is the enticing aspect of the end of Daylight Saving Time, it also means that sunrise and sunset will be an hour earlier for the remainder of the season.
As we prepare our clocks to "fall back" for the end of Daylight Saving Time, this is a chance to also prepare your home and family for fire and weather emergencies.
Do a fire drill at home and write a family communication plan.
Test and replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
The time difference will be automatically adjusted on your computers, smartphones, and smart watches. However, keep in mind to manually correct any analog watches, vintage clocks, or appliance clocks you may have.
When does daylight saving time begin in 2025?
Daylight saving time will begin again on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
