Fatal Collision on Brick Boulevard Claims Life of 64-Year-Old Biker

According to Brick Township Police Department, a man from Brick Township lost control of his motorbike and collided with a pickup vehicle on Yorktowne Boulevard on Wednesday, resulting in his death.

After the collision on Brick Boulevard at 2:34 p.m., Horace Giambona, 64, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to authorities.

Brick resident Rick Stamm, 56, was traveling north on Brick Boulevard in a white 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck when he pulled over at the junction of Yorktowne Boulevard to let an ambulance with its siren and emergency lights on enter, according to the police.

According to authorities, Giambona was heading north on Brick Boulevard in a 2000 Harley Davidson Electra Glide when he looked to be attempting to stop but instead went into a skid.

As he did so, Giambona dismounted the motorcycle and placed it on its right side. Giambona was gravely hurt when he collided with the left rear end of the pickup truck while he and the motorcycle continued to travel north.

The motorcycle kept sliding and ended up on Brick Boulevard's right traffic lane, just north of the Yorktowne Boulevard crossing.

According to authorities, Stamm, the pickup's driver, was unharmed.

During the investigation, traffic was diverted and Brick Boulevard northbound was closed for approximately two hours, according to the police.

The collision is being investigated by Patrolman David Thergesen. Please contact Thergesen at 732-451-2037 if you may have seen the crash or have information about it.
