Two Arrests Following Illegal Weapons Investigation
According to the Stafford Township Police Department, on Monday, November 4th, 2024 a Beachwood man was taken into custody after multiple firearms were found in his house and in a room at the Howard Johnson motel in Toms River.
As part of an investigation into the unlawful trafficking of weapons in the Stafford Township area,
George A. Garulle, 55, of Neptune Avenue in Beachwood, and
Dana Restaino, 39, of Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, were taken into custody on Monday, according to Stafford police.

As a result of the search warrant executions, Garulle and Restaino were found to be possession of numerous illegal firearms, specifically, defaced handguns, handguns containing no serial numbers (ghost guns), rifles, and shotguns, in addition to possessing high capacity magazines, various amounts of ammunition, methamphetamine, and a substantial amount of U.S. currency.
Ultimately, Garulle was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of Large Capacity Magazines, four counts of Possession of a Firearm Without a Serial Number, four counts of Unlawful Possession of Rifles/Shotguns, Certain Persons Not to Have Weapon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, and Distribution an Undetectable Firearm.
Restaino was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, two counts of Possession of Large Capacity Magazines, four counts of Possession of Firearm Without a Serial Number, four counts of Unlawful Possession of Rifles/Shotguns, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, and Distribution of an Undetectable Firearm.
Garulle and Restaino were taken to Ocean County Jail until a future detention hearing set by the Ocean County Superior Court after being processed at Stafford Township Police Department Headquarters and given criminal complaint warrants.
