Help Support Daniels Journey Battling Childhood Brain Cancer

Daniel Mazurkiewicz is 10 years old who was recently diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a form of childhood brain cancer. In July of 2024 he had gotten migraines that wouldn’t go away and had started fainting.

According to a gofundme, Daniel had been taken to his pediatrician who had done a basic exam and found nothing wrong other than it could have been a viral infection and should go away soon, but when his family had mentioned his unbalance and fainting and all the other unusual symptoms, the doctor had continued with some physical balance and neurological tests.

The doctor had seen that Daniel’s entire left side was uncoordinated compared to his right which had some underlying neurological reason.

Daniel had been then sent to Jersey Shore Hospital where he was admitted along with tests being taken on Daniel to try and find the root of the problem to all of his uncertain symptoms.

The doctor had later come and explained to the family that there was a mass in Daniels skull that was on the cerebellum, which is the control center for coordination that was the cause to all of his unusual symptoms.

Within two days, he had been transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, CHOP, and within the same week he had undergone brain surgery that could have had major life affecting side effects that no one knew what he could wake up with after the surgery.

Daniel had spent around a month after the surgery recovering and trying to get back to himself and was soon sent back home.

After a couple of weeks at home, it was time for him to start the first step of his care which was proton radiation therapy. Daniel had been traveling daily back and forth from home to CHOP for his therapy for a consecutive 30 treatments which had impacted Daniel greatly physically and mentally. Help and Donate to the Family During This Time.

During the 30 days he had lost all of his hair, and lost weight, which was inevitable, but everyone is doing their best to continue to support Daniel through his journey. He is now soon to start his chemotherapy at CHOP as the second phase of his post-surgery treatment.

The family truly appreciate the donations that are made.

He has a bright future and with everyone's support we can help Daniel get back to being a happy and healthy kid.
