Shocking Case in South Jersey: Woman Accused of Killing Sister

Emily Cruddas died in 2023. Authorities allege her sister, Sarah Errickson, injected her with a lethal dose of drugs.
According to police, a South Jersey woman is accused of giving her sister a fatal drug injection and fabricating a suicide to cover up the death.

According to court documents, on January 23, 2025, 36-year-old Sarah Errickson was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The charges are related to the death of her sister, Emily Cruddas, age 21 in 2023.

Joseph Ragan, 22, of Philadelphia, is also accused of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
According to 6abc Action News, Cruddas was first discovered dead in her Upper Township residence in 2023.

According to the outlet, Ragan requested to speak about Cruddas's passing without an attorney present approximately a month later.
Following Cruddas's return from a five-day hospital stay, Errickson and Cruddas's boyfriend, Ragan, allegedly carried out the plot to kill her.

According to the report, they gave Cruddas Xanax before injecting her with ten to twelve bags of fentanyl and heroin.

According to NJ.com, a witness told investigators that Errickson had implied Cruddas was to blame for her losing her home and kids.

Errickson is being held in Cape May County Jail while Ragan is currently not in custody, records show.
