Trio of Storms to Bring Significant Snowfall to New Jersey

According to the most recent forecast, Monday was the calm before the storm in New Jersey as the first of three possible winter storms gets ready to dump several inches of snow on Tuesday.

The worst of the storm is expected to hit South Jersey, where Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Ocean counties are under a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service predicts that this area will receive 4 to 6 inches of snow, with the potential for up to 8 inches. According to forecasters, it will be heavy, sometimes dropping more than 1 inch per hour.

According to the National Weather Service, there will be 1 to 4 inches of snow further north.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service caution that due to the storm's timing, the commute on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning may be hazardous. There will be another storm after it.

According to AccuWeather Meteorologist Alex Duffus, "beginning on Wednesday, another storm is expected to closely follow on the heels of the early week storm, impacting many of the same areas." Some people might not even notice a lull before the next storm hits, according to AccuWeather.

On Wednesday morning, a wintry mix is expected to begin in South Jersey and move northward throughout the day and night. Forecasters predicted that the wintry mix would turn to plain rain by nightfall. The National Weather Service predicts that North Jersey will receive 2 to 3 inches of snow, while South Jersey will receive 1 to 2 inches.
This weekend, forecasters are keeping tabs on a third storm. Although it's too early to tell, forecasters with the National Weather Service anticipate another brief snowfall that will change to a wintry mix and then to rain. Remember to keep checking for updates on the upcoming forecast.
