According to Stafford Township Police Department, Kenneth Nelson, 39, of Rockville, NY, was arrested on February 4, 2025, at around 8:18 p.m. for stealing about $1,674 worth of goods from the Lowe's Home Improvement store, which is located at 297 Route 72 West, in Manahawkin.

The suspect made an effort to escape from law enforcement on foot but was swiftly captured. Kenneth Nelson Sr., aged 68, residing in Rockville, NY, was found operating the getaway vehicle outside the premises.

Nelson Sr. was subsequently arrested for conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Nelson Jr. was taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with Shoplifting, and was detained in Ocean County Jail pending a criminal complaint warrant for a court appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
His father, Nelson Sr. was taken back to police headquarters, charged with Shoplifting and issued a criminal complaint summons to appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
