JOANN to Shut Down Six Locations in New Jersey
JOANN Fabrics and Crafts has declared a nationwide closure of 500 stores, resulting in the operation of only 300 locations. Out of 11 stores in New Jersey, six are scheduled to shut down.
The affected locations are Deptford, Lawrenceville, Mays Landing, Mount Laurel, Succasunna, and Toms River.
The company has stated that this decision is essential as it manages the bankruptcy proceedings, having filed for bankruptcy for the second time within a year last month.
The company first filed for Chapter 11 in March 2024 but was able to stay afloat after becoming a private company. The retailer blames the current filing on severe and unexpected inventory issues.
