South Jersey First Responders Help Bring Baby Into the World
According to Egg Harbor Police Department, mom Sarah was en route to the hospital early on Thursday morning, when she discovered the baby wouldn't wait. Consequently, EMS and Egg Harbor Township police worked together to assist in the birth of baby Miamor, who was born in the passenger side of a car that had been stopped on Black Horse Pike. Officers Heidi Wollerman, Juwan Parker, Gary Johnson, and Samuel Walsh arrived shortly before 5 a.m. on Thursday to assist in the delivery of a baby. EMTs Jillian Mellish and Bill Shallcross arrived just in time for the birth of baby Miamor.
Dispatcher Juliet Lipari managed the call and played a crucial role in maintaining a calm environment for the mother.
Wollerman initiated a conversation with Sarah, and shortly thereafter, she commenced the process of giving birth.
