Ten Students Achieve Medals at FBLA NJ State Leadership Conference

According to Toms River Schools, from March 10 to 12, 48 high school students from the district, guided by their advisors Janine Hatton (High School East), Robert Gold (South), and Jamie Tesoro (North), participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference. This event marked the largest conference to date, with over 4,000 students in attendance.

Toms River High School East's Ava Licastri, Katelyn Bell, and Michael Thomas walked away in the top 10 in their categories.

According to Toms River Schools, from March 10 to 12, 48 high school students from the district, guided by their advisors Janine Hatton (High School East), Robert Gold (South), and Jamie Tesoro (North), participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference. This event marked the largest conference to date, with over 4,000 students in attendance.
Students were judged on various business projects, from 17-page business plans to animations and digital video productions. Students who attended the conference include the following Top 10 Medalists:

  • Ava Licastri and Katelyn Bell: High School East - Visual Design (4th Place and qualification to NLC)
  • Michael Thomas: MATES/High School East - Business Plan
  • Jake Spinelli, Shane Hughes, and John Schmitt: High School South - Introduction to Business Presentation
  • Grace Hewitt: High School South - Introduction to Business Presentation
  • Olivia Capetta: High School South - Digital Animation
  • Jariwala and Siddhi Jariwalla: High School South - Digital Animation Chapter

    Additionally, High School North's FBLA students won the coveted Gold Seal Award of Merit.

    "Congratulations goes out to all 48 students on their hard work and dedication prior to and during their competitions," said Gold.
