Lifeguard positions are available at swimming areas across New Jersey’s state parks, forests and recreation areas! Gain valuable new skills, help ensure visitor safety and enjoy the great outdoors.

Lifeguard salaries start at $18.50 an hour, with oceanfront positions offering $19.50 an hour at Island Beach State Park.

Positions available at:

North: High Point State Park, Hopatcong State Park, Swartswood State Park and Wawayanda State Park

Central: Cheesequake State Park and Round Valley Recreation Area

South: Bass River State Forest, Belleplain State Forest, Island Beach State Park and Parvin State Park, along with Atsion Recreation Area in Wharton State Forest

No prior experience?

No problem!

The State Park Service will provide paid training in United States Lifesaving Association’s lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, AED and more.
