Severe Weather Alerts Issued for 16 Counties in New Jersey

On Tuesday, wind advisories were announced for 16 counties in New Jersey as a cold front moves across the state, increasing the likelihood of rain, thunderstorms, and potentially hail, as per the most recent forecast.

The National Weather Service indicated that wind gusts could reach up to 50 mph in Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Monmouth, Middlesex, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May, Mercer, Salem, Cumberland, and Ocean counties. These advisories are expected to remain in effect until 8 p.m.
National Weather Service forecasters indicated on Tuesday that wind gusts have already exceeded 45 mph in certain regions, and this trend may persist throughout the afternoon.

Forecasters caution that winds of this magnitude can uproot tree branches and lead to power disruptions.

During the afternoon and evening, the Garden State may experience isolated to scattered showers, which could bring damaging winds and small hail, according to meteorologists.

Although these showers and storms are expected to subside by sunset, winds will continue overnight at speeds of 20 to 30 mph, as reported by the National Weather Service.

On Wednesday, windy conditions will persist, with gusts potentially reaching 30 to 35 mph. Nevertheless, the day is expected to remain dry, according to the National Weather Service.
