Loaded Handgun Seized During Routine Motor Vehicle Traffic Stop in Ocean County

According to Brick Township Police Department, Chief David Forrester announced on April 9th, 2025, The Brick Police Street Crimes Unit (SCU) arrested and charged Victor M. Conde,38, Lakewood, NJ with being in possession of a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine during a motor vehicle stop.

The SCU was conducting generalized surveillance in Maple Leaf Park when they observed a suspicious vehicle. After observing various traffic violations, detectives requested a marked patrol unit to conduct a traffic stop.

During the stop, detectives developed heightened suspicion which led to the search of the vehicle. While searching, officers discovered a loaded 9mm handgun in the backseat with a high capacity magazine.
Conde was arrested and transported to Brick Police Headquarters and charged with the following: Unlawful possession of a weapon (2nd degree), Possession of a high capacity magazine (4th degree) and Certain person not to possess a firearm (2nd degree).

He was transported to Ocean County Jail.
