3-Year-Old Drowns In Family Pool In New Jersey
A 3-year-old drowned in a home swimming pool on Monday night, and authorities are investigating the incident, according to Hillside Police.
According to Hillside Police Det. Sgt. Natalie Ogonowski, the incident happened at a house on Elmer Place in Hillside and seems to have been an accident.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no additional information was available, and Ogonowski stated that the case is still under investigation.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that drowning is the leading cause of mortality for children aged 1 to 4.
According to the CDC, nonfatal drowning can lead to expensive hospital stays and long-term health issues.
