Investigation Underway After Body Discovered on NJ Transit Tracks

According to authorities, a deceased male was discovered on the NJ Transit rails in Paterson on Thursday night.

At 5:55 p.m., a NJ Transit representative notified NJ Advance Media that the crew of an out-of-service train discovered the body of an unnamed adult male just east of the Route 80 overpass in the city.

Authorities said they were investigating whether the man was hit by a train.

According to the spokesperson, Main Line rail service was temporarily halted in both directions between Paterson and Ridgewood but was restored around 7:30 p.m.
