Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected Across New Jersey

Beneficial rain is predicted for late Friday and early Saturday after an extremely hot and dry week.

Although a few showers have already made their way into our western zones, the number and severity of showers will rise during the course of the night. Additionally, a few isolated storms could occur according to the National Weather Service.
There may be some fog around the coast, and lows will be relatively moderate, mostly in the 60s.

On Saturday, rain showers are expected to last until around midday, following which there will be a brief respite in activity. Temperatures could rise into the low to mid-seventies with a few bursts of sunlight throughout the lull.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to spread across the area by the late afternoon and evening. Some of them could be severe. Around 10 p.m., clearing skies should begin as the showers and storms pass, followed by strong winds and a drop in temperature.

As a result, Sunday will be considerably windier and colder, with highs just reaching 60 degrees. Expect wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph.
