New Jersey Weather Alert: Severe Conditions Ahead
According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms this morning will become more numerous this afternoon with a few storms potentially becoming severe.
Locally damaging wind gusts and some hail are the primary threat. Some storms may also produce a heavy downpour, leading to localized flooding.
The National Weather Service warns of localized flooding where the heaviest downpours occur, as well as the possibility of hail and severe wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
Storms might form at any point between midday and ten o'clock, according to forecasters.
According to the meteorological service's morning forecast discussion, highs in North Jersey will be in the low 70s, while the remainder of the state will see temperatures a few degrees warmer.
