Body of NJ Woman Located Along South Carolina Coast
According to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina, deputies were called about an unresponsive woman in the waves and arrived at Collier Beach Road on Hilton Head Island shortly before one in the morning on Sunday.
The 50-year-old woman, who was wearing a wetsuit and had a boogie board still attached to her ankle, was located and pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation into her death is currently underway; however, it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The woman’s identity will be released by the Coroner’s Office pending notification of her next of kin.
