Attempted Murder Charges Filed Against 57-Year-Old in Toms River

57-Year-Old Arrested in Toms River for Alleged Attempted Murder

Attempted Murder: Toms River Man, 57, Taken into Custody

According to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Patrick Robertelli, 57, of Toms River, was charged on June 6, 2025, with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Harassment, and Stalking in relation to an incident that took place in the Ortley Beach Section of Toms River Township on June 5, 2025.
The Toms River Township Police Department sent officers to a residence on Harding Avenue in the Ortley Beach neighborhood of Toms River on June 5, 2025, at around 10:45 p.m., after receiving a report of a disturbance.

Outside the house, responding officers discovered Robertelli and a male, 52, engaged in a physical altercation. Officers found that the 52-year-old man had been stabbed several times when they separated the two. After being taken to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, his status is reported as serious but stable.
Robertelli went to the victim's house to confront him and a female who was also there, according to the results of a Toms River Township Police Department investigation.

A fight broke out when Robertelli got to the house, and as a result, Robertelli repeatedly stabbed the victim. After additional investigation, it was discovered that Robertelli had threatened the woman via text messages several times.

Without any difficulties, Robertelli was arrested at the site. After being taken to the Ocean County Jail, he is currently being held there while a detention hearing is held.
