According to social media posts, early on Friday morning, a woman was reported missing from her Toms River home, which alarmed the neighbors and prompted a police investigation into her abrupt departure.
According to a neighbor's social media post, the woman, whose identity has not been made public by investigators, was last seen inside her New Street home at around 5:30 a.m. When she was found missing later that morning, her car was still parked at the house, indicating that she did not depart in it.
Her neighbor posted "she was seen inside her home at 5:30 this morning, usually leaves for work around 6-6:30 and was found gone at 10 am with her car home and no belongings with her. If people are able to check their cameras for her on foot or be on the lookout for her."

Locals have urged anyone in the vicinity to watch home security footage and keep an eye out for the woman walking. The neighbor suggested that the streets around Toms River's New Street would provide helpful information.
