NJ Braces for Heavy Storms and Potential Flash Flooding
The National Weather Service says further showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday, with flash flooding likely across much of New Jersey.
There is a flood watch in effect from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM in the following counties: Camden, Gloucester, northwestern Burlington, Sussex, Salem, western Monmouth, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset, Warren, and Morris. Within an hour or two, localized rainfall might reach 3 to 5 inches, according to forecasters.
According to the National Weather Service, "the greatest concern will be flash flooding in urbanized and poor drainage areas, small streams, and creeks, but a few isolated strong thunderstorms with destructive winds are likely."
Forecasters predict that Monday will be hot and muggy until the storms move in.
Regretfully, this trend will persist throughout the week. According to the
National Weather Service, there is a daily possibility of thunderstorms and showers each day. This will allow for much more flash flooding.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday and Friday will not only be the hottest and most humid days of the week, but they also carry the highest danger of severe thunderstorms.
According to the National Weather Service, "the active stormy pattern will persist through Friday." Check the
