According to the most recent forecast, strong storms will saturate the state and significant flash flooding is anticipated, putting all 21 New Jersey counties under a Flood Watch on Thursday.

The National Weather Service widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. Storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall, and scattered instances of flash flooding will be possible. Some isolated severe thunderstorms possible Thursday as well. Not as hot Thursday, but remaining very warm and humid. Remain alert for updates on Thursday's forecast.
Forecasters from the National Weather Service warned that 2 to 4 inches of rain might fall, with some regions potentially seeing 6 inches or more. Forecasters anticipate widespread flash flooding.

"On Thursday, several elements will combine to provide a flash flood risk, particularly for regions in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Regional rainfall is expected to range from two to four inches, with rainfall rates exceeding one inch per hour, according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Scott Homan.
Storms will start to lessen as the evening wears on.

The National Weather Service stated that "lingering showers and thunderstorms will be likely, although the heaviest of the showers and thunderstorms will begin to taper out after midnight from west to east." "Any significant flooding that does occur might not go away until Friday."

Despite the high humidity, Thursday won't be as scorching as the days before.
On the plus side, this will signal the start of a colder time. It will be windy on Friday, with a chance of showers and rain. The National Weather Service predicts low-to-mid-seventies high temperatures. Dry air will then arrive.

"Over the weekend and into early next week, very pleasant and dry conditions will happily follow the hot, humid, and stormy weather," NWS forecasts stated.
