Police Pursue Knife-Wielding Suspect Through NJ Streets

Before being arrested, a wanted guy with a knife led police on a car chase across three townships and crashed his vehicle, according to Ewing police.

The patrol car's license plate scanner device alerted the Ewing police officer to a wanted person on August 1. Officer Daniel Lookner stopped the car that was the subject of the warning at the Wawa on 1300 Silvia Street at approximately 8:44 a.m., according to the police.

According to authorities, the driver, Victor A. Martin, 62, of Stratford, New Jersey, brandished a huge kitchen knife minutes after the first contact.
Martin failed to comply with officers' repeated orders to drop the firearm and get out of the car, and instead ran away, hitting a police car along the way, according to authorities.

Martin eventually crashed on a dead-end street after a car chase that went through Ewing, Trenton, and Hamilton. Martin was apprehended by officers without any more problems.
Eluding police, aggravated assault on a law enforcement official, firearms violations, obstructing apprehension, and resisting arrest are among the numerous counts Martin is facing.

During the pursuit, no officers or bystanders were reported injured.

The inquiry is still under progress. The Ewing Police Department is urging anyone with knowledge about this event to contact them at (609) 882-1313.
