After killing a man from New Jersey in a collision on June 29, a Pennsylvania man was charged with vehicular homicide, according to Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office officials.

On Monday, Andrew Hilferty, 35, of Philadelphia, was charged with intentionally endangering another person, homicide by vehicle, and other offenses.

According to police, Hilferty was first accused of driving under the influence of alcohol when a blood sample taken following the collision showed a.110 reading, which is higher than the legal limit of.08.

According to officials, the collision occurred on June 29 at approximately 5:30 p.m. when Pennsylvania State Police arrived in the eastbound lanes of Route 422 in Limerick Township.

According to authorities, two vehicles—one of which was driven by Hilferty—were speeding east when his vehicle collided with the back end of the other vehicle.
According to data from Hilferty's vehicle, he was driving at 95 mph around five seconds prior to the collision and 98 mph approximately one and a half seconds prior, according to authorities.

Hilferty braked shortly before contact.

Officials said the driver's side of the other automobile was trapped against a tree, causing serious damage.

After being removed from the vehicle, Bridgeport resident Ryan Reyes, 36, was transported to Pottstown Hospital, where authorities declared him deceased.
