New Jersey Welcomes Its First Shark Tank-Approved Ice Cream Shop

The first "Shark Tank"-approved ice cream shop in New Jersey, Crispy Cones, has launched its first outlet in Edison.

Mayor Sam Joshi attended the store's grand opening celebration on Wednesday.

Come sample freshly baked cones and homemade ice cream! This is their first site in New Jersey, and the cones are freshly baked every day," Joshi posted on Instagram.
The shop specializes in soft-serve ice cream that comes in a pastry cone that is rotisserie-grilled and vegan. It is then covered with cinnamon sugar or a specialty powder. The dough is hand-rolled and made fresh every day.

The European-style cone is filled with a customer’s “choice of spread, gourmet soft-serve ice cream, fruit, and a variety of toppings,” according to their website.
Following an agreement with Barbara Corcoran on "Shark Tank," the brand has quickly spread around the country.

Jeremy Carlson, the founder, and his spouse, Kaitlyn, made the decision to apply for Season 14 of ABC's "Shark Tank."

According to their website, Crispy Cones was "astonished to be chosen out of thousands of applicants to pitch their business in front of the Sharks."
Following their agreement with Barbara Corcoran, the brand has quickly grown around the country.

Entrepreneur magazine claims that while Jeremy was in the Czech Republic on a service trip for his church, he had the idea for the cone. Trdelník, a street pastry similar to the chimney cake that is usually filled with ice cream, spreads, and fruits, was a novel delight that he sampled.

In Edison, Crispy Cones can be found at Wick Plaza, which is off Route 1.
