Weekend Weather Alert: Showers and Gusty Winds Expected in NJ

For the majority of the state, the growing season is over. A few weeks ago, the majority of communities had their first frosts of the season. The National Weather Service has issued a few frost advisories until 8 a.m. on Friday, though, because some areas have not yet experienced a frigid morning.
This meteorological configuration is ideal for cooler weather since the skies will be clean and the winds will subside. Despite the cold start, it appears that today's temperatures will gradually rise to their seasonal highs of the upper 50s with some early sunlight.

As a weather system moves in from the Great Lakes, clouds will be gathering throughout the day. As a result, there will be some helpful rainfall from late Friday evening until very early Saturday morning. As daytime highs reach the mid-60s, the remainder of the day should be cloudy and sunny. Unfortunately, Sunday appears to be somewhat rainy. Some of the coldest air of the season will be revealed by that downpour.
