Toms River Hosts Annual Veterans Day Parade Celebration
On November 11, at 9:30 a.m., Ocean County's Veterans Day procession, which will include school bands, community organizations, and veteran groups, will begin in downtown Toms River.
After gathering at the Toms River Shopping Center at Routes 37 and 166, the procession will turn east onto Washington Street after traveling south on Main Street (Route 166). The march will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony. The Toms River Veterans Commission is in charge of both activities.
The commission's annual patriotic essay contest winners will showcase their work from the porch of Town Hall, located at
33 Washington St., following the procession. Officials and veterans are also anticipated to make comments.
School bands, local veterans, and other marchers are invited to participate by the commission. Participants should gather at Main Street (Route 166) and Route 37 between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. Political messages are not permitted.
