Tragic Incident: Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Jersey Shore Highway
According to authorities, one individual was killed on Tuesday night after being struck by an automobile on Route 9 in Atlantic County.
Just after 7:38 p.m., Absecon Police Department responded to a complaint of a person who had been tragically struck by an automobile at the intersection of Route 9 and California Avenue.
According to authorities, the driver stayed at the site and has been assisting investigations. On Tuesday night, traffic in the vicinity was disrupted for around five hours.
The victim's name, age, and hometown were not disclosed.
The crash is being looked at by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the traffic safety unit of the Absecon Police Department. Patrolman Joseph Akeret can be reached at 609-641-0667, ext. 214, by anyone who witnessed the event.
