23-Year-Old from NJ Faces Charges After Deadly Car Accident

Police have filed criminal charges against a 23-year-old motorist who was involved in a fatal two-vehicle collision in Camden County one month ago.

For the October 11 collision that killed Louis Bontya and gravely injured the 76-year-old's wife, Marcus A. Young of Sicklerville was charged with second-degree death by auto and third-degree assault by car.

Around 10:13 p.m., Young was traveling south on Berlin Cross Keys Road when it struck the Bontyas' SUV at the crossroads with Johnson Road, according to Gloucester Township police.
The impact of the collision trapped the three victims within their cars, so firefighters had to extricate them.

Christina Bontya, a Williamstown resident, was a passenger and Louis Bontya was the driver. The Gloucester Township Police Department asked anyone who witnessed the collision or may have information to call them at 856-228-4500.
