Expect Strong Winds Into Friday Morning at the Jersey Shore
According to the National Weather Service, strong winds will develop late tonight and persist into Friday. Wind Advisories are in effect for many areas through Friday night.
Forecasters predict that the Friday morning commute will be disrupted by dangerous winds gusting up to 50 mph and heavy downpours, with up to 2 inches of rain likely in certain places.
From 1 a.m. on Friday through 1 a.m. on Saturday, all 21 counties in New Jersey are under a wind advisory.
According to the National Weather Service, "strong winds will develop late tonight and persist into Friday." "It will continue to rain during the morning commute, but it should stop as Friday midday approaches."
The
National Weather Service predicts that rain will cover much of New Jersey overnight on Thursday, starting in northwestern counties between 9 and 10 p.m. and progressively spreading east.
A half-inch to an inch of rain is expected in most places, with locally greater totals of up to two inches north of Interstate 78.
Ahead of the cold front, winds will blow between 30 and 45 mph, with the highest gusts perhaps reaching 50 mph.
Although there is a chance of thunderstorms on Friday morning, there is still little risk of severe weather.
The region will see very mild temperatures on Thursday night and Friday morning, reaching the 50s.
Temperatures will plummet through Friday afternoon due to the cold front, reaching the high 30s and low 40s by evening.
Most of New Jersey will see cooler, drier weather on Saturday, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, with mid-40s likely in southern regions.
Another cold front with temperatures in the 40s is expected to pass over the region on Sunday. With the front, no precipitation is anticipated. Check your
