According to South Toms River Police Department, on Tuesday, a Tom River man lost his life on Monday after his motorcycle struck two other cars in South Toms River.

According to Chief Michael C. Schneidt, Kenneth Gerisch, 25, was discovered unconscious at the scene of the collision close to Mathis Plaza. When officers arrived, he said, the Robert Wood Johnson paramedics and the South Toms River First Aid Squad were doing emergency life-saving procedures.
After being transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River, Gerisch passed away from his wounds, according to Schneidt.

Schneidt stated that the collision occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. According to the preliminary inquiry, Gerish was traveling south on Herflicker Boulevard when he "presumably lost control of the motorcycle" as he got closer to the intersection with the southbound lane of Atlantic City Boulevard (Route 166).
