Tragic Accident: Vehicle Crushes Man While He Works on It

According to Brick Township Police on Tuesday, a man died on Sunday after a car rolled over him at his house.

Just before noon, Robert Grippe, 61, was discovered unconscious and partially beneath the passenger side of the car at a residence on Lagoon Drive West, said Officer Victoria Finelli. She stated that the car was in front of the house on the street.

According to her, Grippe was declared deceased at the scene.

Finelli said the preliminary investigation found he may have been working on the vehicle at the time and it rolled toward his body. Police did not immediately say what kind of vehicle was involved.

Hackensack University Medical Center paramedics and members of the Brick Township Fire Department also responded to assist.
